What’s Happening at This Year’s Maryland State Fair

The Maryland State Fair is back for its final weekend, running from Thursday, September 4 to Sunday, September 7, at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium. This cherished local tradition offers something for families, foodies, thrill-seekers, and music lovers alike.


🎠 Thrilling Rides & Games

The fair's Midway, operated by Deggeller Attractions, features over 60 rides and games. From the high-speed Rip Tide Roller Coaster and Space Port to the classic Giant Ferris Wheel, there's excitement at every turn. For younger visitors, Kiddie Land offers 15+ child-friendly rides, including the Dragon Coaster and Merry-Go-Round.


🍔 Delicious Fair Food

No trip to the fair is complete without indulging in classic fair foods. From funnel cakes and cotton candy to savory treats like corn dogs and crab cakes, the food vendors offer a delightful array of options to satisfy every craving.

🎶 Live Music & Entertainment

The fair's "LIVE! ON TRACK!" concert series continues this weekend:

  • Friday, September 5: Marshall Tucker Band with special guest Orianthi
  • Saturday, September 6: Maddox Batson with opening acts Emma White and Ashley Anne
  • Sunday, September 7: Sunday Morning Tunes featuring Grateful Dead & Phish for Kids

Each concert begins at 7:00 PM, with gates opening at 6:00 PM. General admission lawn tickets are $40 and include fair admission.


🐴 Horse Racing & Agricultural Exhibits

Experience the thrill of live horse racing at the fairgrounds, showcasing Maryland's rich equestrian heritage. Additionally, explore agricultural exhibits featuring livestock, 4-H projects, and competitions that highlight the state's farming traditions.

  • Thursday, September 4: Gates open at 5:00 PM
  • Friday, September 5 to Sunday, September 7: Gates open at 10:00 AM
